Montrose day

Each session begins with exercise time the children then brush their teeth before heading into the room where the days activities are waiting for them. The children can choose what activity they would to take part in or they can self select recourse's from around the room. During this time we have rolling snack where the children can choose when they would like to have snack.
We then open free flow where the children can choose to play inside or outside moving freely from one area to another. During this time the children will have the opportunity to have small group stories.
At the end of each session the whole group come together to have song time.
Those children who stay all day will have lunch at 12.oclock when the morning session finishes.

Exercise time

During exercise time the children have lots of different opportunities to develop there large motor skills we have

Teeth brushing

Every day the children will get the opportunity to brush their teeth they brush as we sing are brushing teeth song.

Focused activities

When entering the room the children will find a variety of activities linking to our weekly planning.

Art table
Small world area
Home corner
Book area
Loose parts
resources to self select such as games,puzzles,car and blocks

Snack time

During snack time the children will come to the table and with encouragement will self select their own cups and bowls. The children will choose which fruit and drink they want. Often serving themselves and pouring out their own drinks.

Snack time can be a sociable time with lots of learning opportunities talking about what fruit they like the smells and textures of the different fruit. Where fruit comes from and where it is grown.

Free flow

During free flow the children have access to both inside and outside they can choose where they want to explore.

Outside activities include

Mud kitchen
water play
Large sand pit
space to run and explore using materials to create obstacle course.
Scooters and bikes
Small house

Song time

At song time the children sit together and engage in songs and rhymes learning the actions and words to familiar songs. The children will also learn to express themself using musical instruments and rhythm sticks.

They enjoy clapping the syllables to each others names and using song props to act out the songs.
