Committee

Montrose Pre-School is a charity registered with the Charities Commission and is run for families in the area. As a charity, the Pre-school is overseen by an elected Committee of volunteers who work with the staff to ensure the smooth running of the setting.

Committee members are the Charity Trustees and may be parents of pupils or members of the community and they meet twice a term to discuss how things are going, staffing, resources, budgets, fundraising and to review policies and procedures. The Committee is the employer of the staff in the Pre-school. As a group, the Committee ensures the Pre-school fulfils all its legal obligations and operates according to its constitution and Ofsted requirements. The Annual Report is published on the Charity Commission website.  The Committee also ensures a good working relationship with our landlord, Wealdstone Methodist Church.

We are currently looking to expand the membership of the committee and would welcome someone who has an interest and concern for the continuing provision of good quality childcare in these challenging times. No previous experience of being a Trustee is needed as guidance and training can be provided. Any prospective Committee member would need to have an enhanced DBS check and complete an Ofsted application form before fulfilling the role. You would be guided through the bureaucracy by the Pre-school.

At this time, we would be particularly pleased to hear from someone with accountancy skills.

If you are interested in joining the Committee or would like further information, please contact Aelwyn Taylor, Committee Chair at aelwyn.taylor@gmail.com
